Hartford Police Department Awards Ceremony

On Saturday, November 12^th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., Hartford Police Chief Patrick J. Hartnett will host  an awards ceremony to honor police officers and civilians for their actions during incidents that occurred throughout the City of Hartford.  The ceremony will be held at the Old State House, 800 Main Street, Hartford.

Among those being honored are Hartford Police Department Detectives Nestor Caraballo, Jose Santiago and Edward Foster, all of whom sustained gunshot wounds during the course of duty.  Citizens being recognized include Walter Soucy and Vincent Smith, both of who disarmed a disgruntled fellow employee who brought a loaded firearm into the workplace.

Members of the public are welcome to attend this function, as are members of the media.  Light refreshments will be served.
