NEWS RELEASE HPD VICE SQUAD MAKES ARREST IN SALE OF BOOTLEG CD'S AND DVD's. (Hartford) - On Thursday, June 24, 2004, at approximately 12:30 p.m., at 3281 Main Street, Hartford, Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Vice Squad, along with an investigator from the music industry based out of New York City, conducted an investigation into the illegal sale of bootleg CD's and DVD's. As a result of the investigation, HPD Vice Squad Detectives seized a total of 458 bootleg CD's and 223 bootleg DVD, some of pornographic nature. Arrested and charged with the Sale of Bootleg CD's and DVD's was Joseph Mitchell, DOB 1/24/74, of 75 Bisell Street, East Hartford, Connecticut. Mitchell's bond was set at $2,500. Sergeant Franco Sanzo, Supervisor of the HPD Vice Unit, in commenting on the arrest, issued a warning to anyone attempting to sell bootleg CD's and DVD's in Hartford that the Vice Squad will be looking for them and they will be arrested.
