NEWS RELEASE HPD MAKES FOURTEEN (14) ARRESTS DURING CLUB ANXIETY AND FEDERAL CAFE LIQUOR INSPECTION. (Hartford) - On Thursday, February 19, 2004, at approximately 23:00 hours, Officers of the Hartford Police Central District and Detectives of the HPD Vice and Narcotics Division conducted a Liquor Inspection at Club Anxiety, 81 Asylum Avenue, and the Federal Cafe, 84 Union Place. As a result of the Inspection, fourteen (14) arrests were made, nine (9) of which were for Possession of Liquor by a Minor, the majority of which were students from the University of Hartford. There were three (3) arrests for Interfering with Police, one (1) for Interfering with Police/Assault on Police, and one (1) for Dispensing Liquor to a Minor. Attached is a pfd file listing all the arrestees and their charges. In comment on the Inspection and resultant arrests, Acting Hartford Police Chief Mark Pawlina stated, "We are serious about enforcing the liquor laws in Hartford. We hope that bar owners in Hartford are as serious about compliance with state liquor laws as we are about enforcing them.
