HPD YOUTH SERVICES ARRESTS 15 YEAR OLD IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE.

   On May 10, 2004, Detective Noemi Rivera-Cagianello, of the Hartford Police Department's Youth and Family Services Division made an arrest of a fifteen (15) year old male, charging him with two (2) counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree and two (2) counts of Risk of Injury to a minor.

    The fifteen year old (who's name is not being released due to his age) was accused in November of 2003 of sexually assaulting his 10 year old sister on numerous occasions. Upon interviewing the male along with his parents, Detective Rivera-Cagianello obtained a written confession regarding the accusations. The male was then brought to the Juvenile Detention Center at 920 Broad St, Hartford, where he will be held pending his arraignment. 

     Detective Rivera-Cagianello is a twenty (20) year veteran investigator with the Hartford Police Department and is due to retire within weeks. Her expertise and experience in dealing with crimes of this nature will be greatly missed by all.
