HARTFORD POLICE PATROL K-9 TRAINING TO BE HELD THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2004. (Hartford) - On Thursday, February 26, 2004, all Hartford Police Patrol Dog handlers and their respective K-9's, along with K-9 Teams from Manchester, Southington, and New Britain, will participate in the monthly Hartford Police Patrol K-9 in-service training session conducted by the Hartford Police patrol K-9 Unit. The Hartford Police Department is inviting the media to attend and film the training of these highly specialized teams of Officers and their K-9 partners. Media representatives should assemble at 4:30 p.m. behind the HPD Headquarters, 50 Jennings Road, Hartford. The following are the names of the Hartford Police Officers and their K-9 partners:
In August of 2003, HPD Officer Holly Donahue and K-9 Champ II, Officer Densil M. Samuda and K-9 Zeus, and HPD Officer Dennis O'Connor and K-9 Duke represented the Hartford Police Department in the statewide K-9 Olympics, sponsored by the State Department of Corrections, the University of Connecticut Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police.
