HPD TO HOLD SWEARING-IN FOR EIGHT (8) NEW HPD RECRUITS; Former Police Officers from Other Towns to Join HPD.

(Hartford) - Hartford Acting Police Chief Mark Pawlina will swear-in eight (8) new Hartford Police Recruits on Monday, March 8, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., in the Second Floor Classroom of Hartford Police Headquarters, 50 Jennings Road, Hartford.

The eight (8) are former Police Officers from the Cities of Springfield and Worcester, Massachusetts, and the Waterbury, Connecticut.  Due to their former training as Police Officers, they will undergo approximately eight (8) weeks of training at the Hartford Police Academy, followed by several weeks of Field Officer Training, prior to becoming full fledge Hartford Police Officers.

The media is invited to attend the swearing-in event on Monday, at 2:00 p.m. at HPD Headquarters.
