NEWS RELEASE HOT SPOT ENFORCEMENT LEADS TO SEIZURE OF ONE KILOGRAM AND TEN OUNCES OF CRACK COCAINE; BLOOMFIELD MAN HELD ON $2.5 MILLION BOND. (Hartford) - As a result of its continuing "Hot Spot" enforcement efforts throughout the city, Detectives of the Hartford Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division supported by the North District Patrol Division, seized One Kilogram of Cocaine and Ten Ounces of Crack Cocaine. On March 26, 2004, while conducting a "Hot Spot" operation at 294 Sargeant Street, identified by the community as an area of illegal drug activity, HPD Detectives arrested Antoine Jenkins, DOB 10-16-71, of 17 Cobblestone Road, Bloomfield, Connecticut. Jenkins was found in possession of One Kilogram of Cocaine and Ten Ounces of Crack Cocaine, and was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics With Intent to Sell (PWITS), PWITS Within 1,500' of a School, Operating a Drug Factory and Interfering With Police. Jenkins bond was set at $2.5 million. In commenting on the Jenkins arrest, HPD Vice Unit Supervisor Sergeant Franco Sanzo stated, "This was a significant arrest and excellent work by Vice and Narcotics Detectives and the North District Patrol Division, relieving the neighborhood of a major out-of-town drug distributor."
