Hartford Police Identify Murder Victim as Ricardo Knotts (Hartford) - On Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Hartford Police Department Patrol Units responded to 98 Brook Street on the report of a person shot. Upon arrival, responding patrol officers located a male victim on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was immediately transported via ambulance to St. Francis Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The victim was identified through fingerprint identification as Ricardo Knotts, age 20, of Hartford. This is the city's third homicide of 2004. Hartford Police have made five murder arrests since January 1, 2004. The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Evidentiary Services began an immediate investigation into this incident.
