NEWS RELEASE HPD Major Crimes Makes Arrest in Connection to Shamari Green Homicide. (Hartford) - On Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at approximately 0124 hours, Hartford Police Department Patrol Units responded to the area of 786 Capitol Avenue on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, responding officers located a male victim inside the foyer suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported via ambulance to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 0200 hours. The victim was identified as Shamari Greene, age 19, of Hartford. The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Evidentiary Services Divisions began an immediate investigation into this incident. On January 7, 2004, Major Crimes Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Brian Ebron, DOB 11/30/82, of Hartford, in connection with this incident. On January 8, 2004, Brian Ebron was located by members of the Fugitive Task Force and arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit. The investigation into the Greene homicide is ongoing at this time. Ebron remains in Hartford Police custody on a $100,000 on the above charges.
