NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: Tuesday, February 17, 2004

 

HPD SEEKING INFORMATION ON HOMESTEAD AVENUE/WOODLAND STREET HOMICIDE.
 

On Monday, February 16, 2004, at approximately 1556 hours, Hartford Police Department Patrol Units responded to the area of Homestead Avenue at Woodland Street on the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim at 286 Homestead Avenue, the Buggy Bath Car Wash, suffering from an apparent gun shot wound.

The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital via ambulance and was subsequently pronounced dead at 1614 hours. The victim has been identified as Jarvis Shealey,age 19, of Windsor, Connecticut.

The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Evidentiary Services Divisions began an immediate investigation into this incident.
