HPD FUGITIVE TASK FORCE APPREHENDS FELONY MURDER SUSPECT.

(Hartford) - Continuing it's pursuit of dangerous fugitives, on Monday, February 16, 2004, the Hartford Police Department's Fugitive Task Force apprehended Edwin Solar, DOB 8-3-73, wanted in connection with a December 19, 2003 Felony Murder of Miguel Delgado which occurred at 134 Babcock Street in Hartford.

Solar is being held in HPD custody on $1 million bond, and is charged with Felony Murder, Murder, four counts of Robbery in the First Degree , Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Burglary in the First Degree.

The Hartford Fugitive Task Force is a collaboration of Hartford Police, State Police, the F.B.I., the U.S. Marshall's Office, and the Office of Adult Probation.  This is the tenth (10th) murder arrest by the HPD Fugitive Task Force this year. 

In commenting on the HPD Fugitive Task Force's work, HPD Intelligence Division Commander Lieutenant Robert O'Connell stated, "The Task Force is made up of highly trained individuals specializing in tracking down dangerous fugitives.  They have been given the resources and freedom to seek out these dangerous individuals and get them off our streets.  This effort will continue it's focus of getting those persons affecting the quality of life of our residents off Hartford streets."
