NEWS RELEASE HPD'S JUVENILE INVESTIGATIVE DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE INVOLVING "TELEPHONE CHAT" LINE; Issue Warning to Parents. (Hartford) - On April 29, 2004, the Hartford Police Department's Juvenile Investigative Division began an investigation into a sexual assault allegation. The victim, a mentally deficient minor, met a male party on a telephone chat line and agreed to meet him. Once at his home, (an apartment in the city's Asylum Hill neighborhood) she was sexually assaulted by Luis Sanchez, age 34 of Hartford in his bedroom. On May 28, 2004, Hartford Police Juvenile Investigative Detectives Sabine Nyenhuis and Robert Davis Jr. made the arrest of Sanchez at his place of employment in South Windsor. He is charged with one count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree. He is being held on a bond set at $150,000.00, awaiting arraignment on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 in Hartford Superior Court.

these telephone chat lines as well as internet chat rooms. Parents should be
cautioned and vigilant as to these happenings.
