HPD Apprehends Tyshawn Adams, Fugitive Wanted by Hartford Fugitive Task Force.

(Hartford) - On Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Hartford Police Vice and Narcotics Detectives conducted an investigation into a complaint from the community of illegal narcotics activity in the area of Brook and Mather Streets in Hartford.  This location, based on these citizen complaints, had been identified as a "Hot Spot" in the Clay Arsenal sector of the city.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Tyshawn Adams, DOB 9/25/79, of 8 Sterling Street, Hartford.  Adams, identified by Project Safe Neighborhoods as a suspect in a recent robbery, was also being sought by the Hartford Fugitive Task Force under seven (7) outstanding Hartford arrest warrants and (1) one arrest warrant on file with the town of Wethersfield.  At the time of his apprehension, Adams was in possession of eighteen (18) grams of crack cocaine and a small denomination of U.S. Currency.

Adams was arraigned in Hartford Superior Court this morning on a $195,000 bond, and is charged with:  Reckless Driving; Engaging Police in Pursuit; Interfering with Police; Criminal Impersonation, Failure to Appear in the First Degree, Failure to Appear in the Second Degree (2 counts); Violation of Probation; Possession of Narcotics; Criminal Impersonation; Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree; Assault in the Third Degree;  Breach of Peace; Stalking in the Second Degree; Larceny in the Third Degree; Failure to Wear a Seatbelt; Forgery in the Second Degree; Identity Theft; and Disorderly Conduct.
