HARTFORD POLICE IDENTIFY SUSPECT WANTED IN KNOTTS MURDER

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have identified a suspect in the January 20, 2004, murder of Ricardo Knotts.  Hartford Police have issued an arrest warrant for Benigno Vargas, DOB 10/11/79, wanted in connection with the Knotts murder which occurred outside 102 Brook Street, Hartford.  The victim died of a single gunshot wound to the head. 

Vargas is wanted for Murder and Criminal Use of a Firearm.  The weapon in this homicide has not been recovered.  Benigno Vargas should be considered armed and dangerous.  Attached is a wanted poster issued by Hartford Police for Vargas.
