HARTFORD POLICE MAKE ARREST IN BURGLARY OF SENATOR CHRISTOPHER DODD'S HARTFORD OFFICE

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have apprehended Gilbert Soto, 48, of no certain address, in connection with the Sunday, August 26th burglary of United State's Senator Christopher J. Dodd's Hartford office located at 30 Lewis Street.

Soto, described as an Hispanic male, 5'11", 208 lbs, was captured on video surveillance during the burglary and subsequently recognized by detectives while patrolling the area of Gold and Lewis Streets earlier today.  He was immediately taken into custody and is cooperating with police in the investigation.  Police have recovered a television and computer taken during the burglary. 

Soto remains in custody on a $15,000 bond for the charges of burglary in the third degree, larceny third degree, and criminal mischief third degree.

Investigators believe this incident to be a random burglary of no political motive.
