City of Hartford Police Mounted Patrol Unit Graduation Ceremony

(Hartford) -  Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts today announced that the new City of Hartford Police Department Mounted Patrol Unit will graduate at a ceremony scheduled for Monday, October 6, 2008, beginning at 12 noon in Bushnell Park on the State Capitol north lawn.

The HPD Mounted Patrol  Unit has been in training under the auspices of the State of Connecticut First Company Governor's Horse Guard since June at the Horse Guard facility in Avon, Connecticut.

Scheduled speakers at the even include Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez, City Council President and Public Safety Committee Chairman Calixto Torres, Chief Daryl K. Roberts, and representing the First Company Governor's Horse Guard Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Richard Belliveau.

The media and public welcome to attend this historic event.
