Hartford Police Release Video of Attempted Robbery;
Seeks Public Assistance in Identifying Suspect


(Hartford) -
Hartford Police Department have secured a surveillance video of a suspect in the November 28, 2008, attempted robbery of a Subway Restaurant located at 471 Farmington Avenue in Hartford.  Police are  asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., on November 28th, a man in a red coat and floppy hat, described as approximately 30 years old, 6', 200 lbs, with brown hair, medium build, and gray sports pants, sporting a 6" kitchen knife, lunged at the store clerk as he opened the cash register in an attempt to take some cash.  The victim shut the register and backed away and the suspect fled the store, heading south on Sisson Avenue. 

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect in the video listed below is asked to contact Hartford Police Major Crimes Supervising Sergeant Ed Yergeau at 860-757-4257 or call Hartford Crime Stoppers at 860-722-TIPS (8477).
