City of Hartford Traffic Advisory for the St Patrick’s Day Parade and the O’Hartford 5K Road Race (Hartford) – The Hartford Police Department’s Traffic Division is providing the following information with respect to this weekend’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and the O’Hartford 5K Road Race in downtown Hartford. Saturday March 13, 2010 – 39th Annual Greater Hartford Saint Patrick’s Day Parade The Saint Patrick Day Parade Assembly will begin at 9:00 am on Capitol Avenue between Washington and Broad Streets. The step off time is 10:45 am. Please see parade map below. The I-84 Eastbound Capitol Avenue Exit Ramp will be closed from 10:45 am to approximately 1:00 pm. In addition, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 10:45 am and will begin to re-open at approximately 1:00 pm: · Capitol Avenue between Main Street and Broad Street · Main Street between Capitol Avenue and Church Street · Asylum Street between main Street and Spruce Street · Ford Street to Trinity Street · Trinity Street between Ford Street and Capitol Avenue · Colin Whitehead Highway at the Columbus Boulevard Exit (Columbus Exit will be open) : Sunday March 14, 2010 – O’Hartford 5K Road Race The O’Hartford 5K Road Race will begin at 1:00 pm. The race will stage and begin on Trumbull Street in front of the XL Center between Church Street and Asylum Street. The route travels south on Trumbull Street, east on Pearl Street, south on Main Street, west on Park Street, north on Park Terrace, east on Capitol Avenue, north on Trinity Street and east on Pearl Street. The event ends on Pearl Street at the intersection of Haynes Street. Please see map below. There will be street closures and delays on all roads used for the event from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Additional street closures are as follows: · Trumbull Street between Church and Asylum Streets will be closed from 10:00 am - 1:30 pm · Trumbull Street between Asylum and Pearl Streets will be closed from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm · Pearl Street between Ann and Pearl Streets will be closed from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
