Hartford Police Department Bomb Squad Wins "Best in Show" during First Annual New England Law Enforcement Car Show.

On May 29, 2004, the New Britain Police Department hosted the First Annual New England Law Enforcement Car Show.  Participants included representatives of the Connecticut and Massachusetts State Police and local police department from across Connecticut.


The City of Hartford Bomb Squad, Commanded by Lieutenant Brian Heavren, is comprised of ten members, two from the West Hartford Police Department, one from the East Hartford Police Department and seven from the Hartford Police Department.  The Hartford Bomb Squad, with its Remotec F6A ROBOT, purchased in March of 2004 with funds received from the State of Connecticut Division of Homeland Security, and new Bomb Truck, purchased with a State of Connecticut grant and delivered in 2002, services surrounding towns in the Hartford Capital region.
