HPD LOOKING FOR 1995 OLDS CUTLASS IN SOLDIERS & SAILORS MEMORIAL ARCH HIT AND RUN.
(Hartford) – The Hartford Police Department is currently looking for a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme LS, Bronze in color suspected of hitting and causing extensive damage to the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch in Hartford at approximately 0140 hours on Thursday, December 11, 2003. The unknown operator and vehicle fled the scene prior to police response. The vehicle is believed to have sustained heavy front end damage as a result of this accident. Investigators believe the vehicle may have also sustained damage to the driver side of the car. Parts were located at the scene which assisted investigators in determining the make and model of the vehicle. “We know what we are looking for, a bronze 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme, which also has an undercoat of blue paint,” stated Captain Michael Fallon, Commander of the HPD’s Traffic Division. “We need the community’s help in locating this vehicle and bringing its operator to justice and accountability. The Soldier and Sailors Memorial Arch is one of the most revered and beloved monuments, not only in Hartford, but in the State of Connecticut. We will not tolerate the type of reckless endangerment and abuse of our historic monuments. We are asking citizens to watch out for this vehicle, to be alert of their surroundings and if the notice a vehicle of this type of description to contact us. We are also asking Garages, Body Shops, and the like to act responsibly and inform us if such a vehicle comes in for repairs.” Conclude Captain Fallon.
