Police to Use Segways Donated by Aetna.

Mayor Perez will formally accept the Segways from Aetna Representatives

WHAT
· As part of a new community
policing initiative in the Asylum Hill section of Hartford, Aetna has
purchased two Segway HT (Human Transporter) scooters for Hartford police
officers who will be patrolling beats in the area. Police in several
American cities, including Seattle, Chicago, New York, Boston and Atlanta,
are using these scooters --self-balancing, personal transportation devices
that can travel more than 12 mph. Hartford will be the first city in
Connecticut to employ the Segways.
