Narcotics Unit Shut Down Drug Factory.
(Hartford) – On Thursday, October 30, 2003,
at approximately 7:30 p.m., Detectives from the Hartford Police
Department’s Narcotics Unit executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at 38
Bushnell Street, first floor, Hartford. As a result of the warrant,
Detectives seized sixty-six (66) bags of marijuana packaged for street
sale, $182.00 in U.S. currency, two bags of raw heroin, a scale,
packaging materials and six heroin stamps. Six individuals were
arrested and charged with numerous drug charges.
Arrested were Irma Maldonado, DOB 11-28-57, of
38 Bushnell Street, charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession
With Intent to Sell (PWITS) Narcotics, PWITS within 1,500 of a school,
Possession of a Controlled Substance, PWITS Controlled Substance and
Operating a Drug Factory; Moises Oliveras, 10-20-75, Irving Oliveras,
10-20-75, and Victor Oliveras, 8-3-77, all of 38 Bushnell Street, and
all charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, PWITS, and PWITS
within 1,500 feet of a school; Miguel Agosto, 7-10-78 of 22 Berkley
Avenue, charged with Criminal Attempt to Possess a Controlled Substance;
and Maria Maisonette, 3-11-51 of 19 Crown Street, charged with
Interfering with Police.
In commenting on the incident, Sergeant Lance
D. Sigersmith, Supervisor of the HPD Narcotics Unit, stated an
“excellent job was done by Detectives Martinez and Johnson, and all
personnel involved in closing down this drug factory that had been a
neighborhood menace.”
