Hartford Police Narcotics Unit Arrests Large Scale Crack-Cocaine Dealer; Shuts Down Drug Factory.

 

(Hartford) – On Tuesday, November 4, 2003, at approximately 4 p.m., detectives from the HPD’s Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation into crack-cocaine sales in the Asylum Hill area of Hartford.  As a result of the intensive investigation, detectives seized a total of three and one-half ounces of crack-cocaine, a scale, drug packaging materials and over $10,000 in U.S. Currency.  The street value of the crack-cocaine when broken down into street level increments is in excess of $10,000.00.

 

Arrested and charged with Operating a Drug Factory, Possession of Narcotics, Possession With Intent to Sell Narcotics, and Possession of Narcotics within 1,500’ of a School was Kurt Hylton, DOB 6-12-64, of 862 Asylum Avenue, Hartford.

 

In commenting on the arrest, Vice and Narcotics Commander, Lieutenant Harold Even, stated “Hylton is considered a large scale crack-cocaine dealer and his arrest should have a significant impact in the Asylum Hill area.  Detectives Robert Burgos and Brennon Plourde did an excellent job in this investigation with successful results.”
