ONE OF PUERTO RICO’S 10 MOST WANTED CAPTURED
On October 30, 2003 Detectives from the Hartford Police Youth and Family Services Division received information from the Puerto Rico State Police’s Extraditions Division that a person on the ten most wanted in Puerto Rico was believed to have moved to Hartford, Connecticut.
ISREAL ECHEVARRIA, age 52, was wanted in connection with the sexual assault of an 11 year old girl in Puerto Rico who is blind and mute.
On November 20, 2003, Lieutenant Jose Lopez Sr., Commander/Youth and Family Services with Detective Dixon Vega, also of the Youth and Family Services Division, located Isreal Echevarria at 958 Wethersfield Avenue and placed him under arrest, charging him with Fugitive from Justice.
Isreal Echevarria is being held at 101 Lafayette Street in lieu of a one million dollar bond.
