HPD Major Crimes Makes Arrest in Zackowski Murder.

 

            (Hartford)   - On Friday, November 21, 2003, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division, along with several members of the Wethersfield Police Department, converged on a residence at 20 Emerson Street in Wethersfield, Connecticut, whereupon a 15 year old murder suspect was located and arrested for Murder, Criminal Use of a Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit.  The suspected firearm was also recovered as a result of the investigation.

 

            This arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation by the HPD’s Major Crimes Division of a Sunday, November 15, 2003, incident wherein HPD Patrol Units responded to the area of 252 Farmington Avenue on a report of a person shot.  Upon arrival officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital via ambulance and was subsequently pronounced dead at 2136 hours.  The victim was identified as Michael Zackowski, 26, of Hartford.
