HPD Major Crimes Makes
Arrests in CVS Robbery Case.

On
Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at approximately 2000
hours, Hartford Police Department Patrol Units responded to 479 Blue
Hills Avenue, CVS Pharmacy, on the report of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, responding officers determined that at least 2
individuals had entered the store armed with handguns and demanded
money. The suspects then fled the area in an awaiting vehicle.
The Hartford Police
Department’s Major Crimes Division along with detectives from
neighboring towns began an immediate investigation into this
incident and numerous other robberies which had occurred during the
previous weeks in Hartford and surrounding
jurisdictions.
On
December 9, 2003, Detective William
Siemionko and Detective Al Henderson of
the Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division secured
arrest warrants for four individuals in relation to the robbery at
the Blue Hills Avenue CVS which occurred on October 1, 2003.
Arrest Warrants
were issued for the following individuals:
1.
Jordi
Kerr, DOB 12/16/82, Robbery 1st (3 counts), Conspiracy
2.
Jammal
Bazemore, DOB 4/26/82, Robbery 1st
(3 counts), Conspiracy
3.
Ronnie Smith, DOB 1/9/82,
Robbery 1st (3 counts), Conspiracy
4.
Negus Jones, DOB 12/23/83,
Robbery 1st (3 counts), Conspiracy, Criminal Use of a
firearm, Risk of Injury.
At this time,
Jordi Kerr, Ronnie Smith, and Negus
Jones are currently in custody on unrelated charges.
Jammal Bazemore
was taken into custody by the Statewide Fugitive Taskforce on
today’s date. Additional arrest warrants for the above individuals
are anticipated for several other robberies which occurred in
Hartford and surrounding towns.
