Hartford Police Target Drug Dealing at Farmington Avenue and Laurel Street.

 

 (Hartford) – Hartford Police continued their crack down on drug dealing and increased violence in and around Farmington Avenue and Laurel Street in an early Sunday morning raid. 

At approximately 9:30 a.m., on Sunday, December 14, 2003, Detectives executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at 330 Laurel Street, Apartment #311.  The investigation was the result of increased violence and drug dealing in and around “Mario’s Market” located at Farmington Avenue and Laurel Street.  Detectives seized thirty-four (34) bags of marijuana (approximately 107 grams), a scale, packaging materials and $350.00 in U.S. Currency.

Arrested and charged as listed were Hayward Robinson, DOB 3-2-59, of 330 Laurel Street, #311, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession With Intent to Sell (PWITS), and PWITS within  1,500 feet of a School; Linda Clayton, DOB 7-13-62, of 330 Laurel Street, #311, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, PWITS, and PWITS within 1,500 feet of a School; Jason Grant, 3-11-79, of 174 Woodland Drive, Hartford, charged with Interfering With a Search Warrant; and Bretaayia Belton, DOB 5-13-80, of 199 Nelson Street, Hartford, charged with Interfering with a Search Warrant.

Commenting on the continued efforts to rid the city of drug driven crime, Vice and Narcotics Commander, Lieutenant Harold Even stated, “With help from the community and our belief in our mission to shut down drug trafficking in our city, we will continue to be relentless in ridding our neighborhoods of drug driven crime.”
