Hartford Police Nab Six Individuals Selling Drugs at McDonalds.

            (Hartford) –  Hartford Police, combining forces of its South District Community Response Division Officers and Vice and Narcotics Detectives, in answer to citizens complaints, shut down a drug dealing ring operating out of the McDonald’s located at 172 Washington Street, Hartford.

The operation, launched at approximately 6:00 a.m., resulted in the arrest of the following six individuals:  Betty Pabon, DOB 5/16/59, of 15 Alden Street, Hartford, charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics With Intent to Sell (PWITS), PWITS Within 1,500 feet of a School, and Interfering with Police; Maria Maldonado, DOB 3/13/62, of 57 Sumner Street, Hartford, charged with Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics; Sonia Figueroa, DOB 2/7/60, of 14 Deerfield Street, East Hartford, charged with Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics, Angel Rosado, DOB 8/13/45, of 164 Glendale Avenue, Hartford, charged with Interfering with Police and Reckless Driving; Ignacio Viera, DOB 6/2/59, of 28 Terrace Avenue, East Hartford, charged with Possession of Narcotics, PWITS, and PWITS Within 1,500 feet of a School; and Maria Maldonado DOB 1/13/65, of 28 Terrace Avenue, East Hartford, charged with Possession of Narcotics, PWITS, and PWITS Within 1,500 feet of a School.

In commenting on the operations impact, South District Commander Captain Mark Pawlina stated, “We received numerous complaints from citizens about narcotics dealing going on inside of McDonalds.  Many citizens and employees were fearful and concerned about reporting the activity.  However, these brave people stepped up with key information that allowed us to put together an effective operation and shut down this illegal activity.  Now they have their neighborhood back.  We will continue our surveillance of the area to make sure the drug dealers do not come back.
