(Hartford) – On September
25, 2003, at 10:45 a.m., Detectives from the Hartford Police Department’s
Vice Squad, along with a recording music industry investigator, conducted
enforcement inspections at four (4) locations in the City of Hartford.
The inspections were prompted by complaints made to The Music
Industry, a New York based music investigative agency.
A total of 747 CD’s and 130 DVD’s, some
pornographic in nature, were seized from four (4) locations: Danny’s
Grocery, 33 Park Street; Brothers Grocery, 180 Ashley Street; The Hat Store,
445 Albany Avenue; and WOW 99, 1778 Park Street.
Arrested and charged with the Sale of
Bootleg CD’s and DVD’s were Diogenes Adames (7-29-77) of 250 Main Street,
Yenet Mendoza (DOB 1-7-71) of 16 Foley Street, West Hartford, and Isac
Fisher (DOB 11-6-71) of 151 Pembroke Street, Hartford. Arrested for the
Sale of Bootleg CD’s was Clrar Jiminian (DOB 8-12-67) of 91 Flatbush Avenue,
Hartford.
Lieutenant Harold Even, Commander of
Vice and Narcotics, commenting on the investigation stated, “These types of
establishments are magnets for criminal activity and impact the quality of
life in our neighborhoods. Our detectives are trained specifically to
identify this type of activity and shut it down.”
The investigation is ongoing and
Hartford Police encourage individuals with information about such illegal
activities to contact the HPD Vice and Narcotics Division at 527-7300,
extension 5297. Tips will remain confidential.
